BRING YOUR CLASSROOM TO LIFE

Author Susan Beattie, is conducting Virtual Author “live” Google Meets with pre-taped Field Trips to Wildlife Sanctuaries and Museums that are featured in her books.  Each Virtual Author Meet is suitable for entire schools, grade levels, media specialists, or individual classrooms. Each event consists of a 30 minute presentation which includes access to on-location, pre-taped footage of her (sometimes with Luke) at several wildlife sanctuaries and museums listed below where she interviews directors of education while touring their center(s), getting up close to the wildlife and discussing the various wildlife with their stories of rescue and rehabilitation.

AN INTRO TO SUSAN BEATTIE’S VIRTUAL CLASSROOM & LUKE’S CLUBHOUSE

Susan (with rescue dog Luke) discusses her films, books, and mission for Luke’s Storybook Adventure’s Educational Channel, joining communities together to bring awareness about the heroes young and old who are making a difference in the lives of domestic animals and wildlife through rescue, rehabilitation, fostering, volunteering, and caring for their own pets. Susan shares her tips and inspirations as an author and her travel experiences (often with Luke) when researching for her present and future books.

MCCARTHY'S WILDLIFE SANCTUARY (Part 1)

Susan interviews the founder as they tour the sanctuary discussing the wildlife (with up close shots) and their stories of rescue and rehabilitation. Meet a macaw, cockatoo, African Grey, Amazon Parrot, Toucan, Kinkajou, Marmoset, Kookaburra, Tortoises, and Two-toed Sloth. Many of these animals and birds are featured in Susan’s current and future books of Luke’s Storybook Adventures like Luke’s Rainforest Exploration, Luke’s Everglades Excursion, and Luke’s African Safari.

MCCARTHY'S WILDLIFE SANCTUARY (Part 2)

Susan interviews the founder as they tour the sanctuary discussing the wildlife (with up close shots) and their stories of rescue and rehabilitation. Meet a Jaguar, Tiger, Panther, Snow Leopard, Bobcat, Siberian Lynx, White Tiger, Amur Leopard, Black Leopard, and Clouded Leopard. Many of these animals are featured in Susan’s current and future books of Luke’s Storybook Adventures like Luke’s Rainforest Exploration, Luke’s Everglades Excursion, and Luke’s African Safari.

MCCARTHY'S WILDLIFE SANCTUARY (Part 3)

Susan interviews the founder as they tour the sanctuary discussing the wildlife (with up close shots) and their stories of rescue and rehabilitation. Learn how Mark came to Florida from Michigan at the age of 16 with $5.00 and a bag of rattlesnakes to get a job at the Miami Serpentarium. See some of the over 100 snakes including Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake, Colombian Boa Constrictor, Russel’s Viper, Burmese Python, Albino Burmese Python, Cobra, and more. The Burmese Python is featured in Susan’s Everglades Excursion as the invasive species.

FLORIDA RESCUE RANCH

Susan interviews the founder of Florida Rescue Ranch and the Founder of Rescue-Life Sanctuary about the rescue of Zenny the Zonkey & Gloria the Camel with scenes of other rescued donkeys.

“LUKE’S WESTERN ADVENTURE”

Join Susan and Luke on a photo/video presentation as she narrates her trip in their custom van called the “Luke-Mobile” from Palm Beach, Florida to Aspen, Colorado where they visited museums and historical places depicting the women, men, children, and Native Americans of the West. They also share their mountain adventures.

Susan narrates a photo/video presentation about her preparation for writing each book including making storyboards, research, travels, and visits to wildlife sanctuaries, accredited zoos, and science museums in preparation to write each book.

Join Luke and Susan on a photo/video presentation to music as Susan and Luke travel in their custom van called the “Luke-Mobile” from Palm Beach Florida to Nova Scotia Canada visiting wildlife sanctuaries, museums, and historical places along the way. Luke comes face to face with a Beluga Whale, Penguins, and Seals who showed off for him at the Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut.

MEET A LITTLE GIRL & HER PONY CHRISTOPHER

Meet Drew and her pony Christopher with Children’s Author Susan Beattie as she demonstrates how to prepare this darling pony before and after riding, giving him the love and care he needs making this a very special human-animal bond.

SUSAN & RESCUE PUPPY LUKE VISIT PANTHER RUN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Watch Susan and Luke as they visit the students at Panther Run Elementary School to share “Luke’s Story” and their mission of teaching compassion for all animals. This was their very first presentation, Susan and Luke went on to many Palm Beach County Schools over a 7 year period visiting thousands of students.

SHERIFF DEPUTY, K9 THERAPY DOGS & SUSAN VISIT TIMBER TRACE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (PART 1)

Susan interviews Deputy W. Feaman (for the students) where he discusses the K9’s job of giving care, compassion, and love to someone in distress or who has suffered a traumatic experience and the training they go through. Deputy Feaman and his special dogs also visit hospitals, nursing homes, and PBSO supported events.

THE MAKING OF LUKE’S STORY.  A Short Film takes its viewers through the process of writing Luke’s Story from inspiration to publication. The film shows author Susan Beattie collaborating with the artist/illustrator, and the graphic designer, all at work on the book with clips of Luke and Greg in the store working and playing.

Susan together with Luke talk about her books at the jewelry story where Luke became a door greeter with Greg (jeweler) who adopted Luke. Also footage with Susan and Luke on the island of Palm Beach at several locations featured in many of her books, such as the Kapok tree, Lake Trail, Flagler Museum, Mizner Fountain, and the Beach.
